The second edition of Cosmetorium took place in the Palau de Congressos, Montjuïc, Barcelona on October 3-4, bringing together 1700 industry professionals over the two days of the event. In the exhibitor zone 107 national and international companies presented to visitors their products, latest innovations and services.
A programme of 36 commercial presentations ran alongside the exhibition as well as 15 scientific conferences that were given by industry experts who tackled subjects such as regulatory news, trends, marketing, cosmetic science and technology. Furthermore, this year’s Scientific Programme was enhanced by the participation of cosmetics professionals from the Sociedade Portuguesa de Ciências Cosmetológicas.
Winners of the inaugural Cosmetorium Awards were announced during the show. There were two prize categories, one for Innovation and one for Sustainability. Exhibiting company Symrise won the Innovation Award for SymBright™, a natural active that protects the skin from the formation of dark spots induced by exosomes. The Sustainability Award went to Amita Health Care Iberia for thier Celus-BI® Light Ester, a low environmental impact biodegradable emollient from sustainable European crops.
Cosmetorium, created by the Sociedad Española de Químicos Cosméticos (SEQC) and organised by Step Exhibitions, is asserting itself as a point of reference on matters of formulation, manufacture and distribution of cosmetic products in Spain. The third edition of Cosmetorium will take place on September 26 and 27 2018 in the same venue, with an increased exhibitor area.
