Global wellness leader Lycored is inviting the nutrition industry to join together in an online choir.

The 26th September 2020 is Heart and Soil Day, when Lycored organizes community activities to cultivate wellness across the world. To mark the fifth year of the event, the company has teamed up with Tennessee-based singer-songwriter Drew Young.

Young, who has been dubbed the ‘Americana crooner’, has worked with some of Nashville’s top musicians. Taking Lycored’s commitment to nature and togetherness as an inspiration, he composed and recorded ‘You Can’t Grow A Forest Without Seeds’ during lockdown.

Lycored is inviting its industry contacts to sing the new song as part of a ‘crash chorus’ on Zoom on 23 September. The global singalong, which is open to everyone worldwide, will be led by group singing advocate Dominic Stichbury, with a video of the recording released on the 26th September for Heart and Soil Day.

Zev Ziegler, Head of Global Brand and Marketing, Health, at Lycored, said: “Lycored is all about interconnectedness, and a virtual choir is the perfect way to celebrate that. We want as many voices as possible, from as many countries as possible, to join together across the miles and the Wi-Fi connections. Singing is great for our hearts and our minds and we promise an uplifting experience to everyone who takes part.”

He added: “Drew’s fantastic song is about the relationship we all have with each other, and with nature. We hope it will serve as an inspiration to our industry that we should enjoy the riches around us and remember that the earth is everyone’s common ground.”

In addition to the virtual choir, Lycored will mark Heart and Soil Day by taking part in community activities across the world. In Switzerland, staff will prepare a three-course meal for homeless and disadvantaged people in the Schaffhausen soup kitchen. Meanwhile, members of Lycored’s US team will be planting flowers in decorated pots and delivering them to nursing homes.
