The photoprotection chemists at Hallstar have long observed and learned from the plant world. While plants do not physically block UV rays themselves, they have needed to develop their own phytochemical defenses – carotenoids, flavonoids, polyphenols, vitamin C, vitamin E, a specific range of fatty acids, lipids, and more – to protect their cells from UV induced damage.
