The new alkyl polyglycosides enable innovative cosmetics manufacturers to develop personal hygiene products and face cleansers conforming to ECOCERT/COSMOS and RSPO standards.
More and more consumers now consider sustainability and naturalness when deciding to buy a product. To enable manufacturers of personal hygiene products and face cleansers to advertise their goods according to these criteria, Berg + Schmidt GmbH & Co. KG has extended its BergaSoft series to include the APG (alkyl polyglycoside) surfactants LG 50, DG 50 and CG 50. These conform to the ECOCERT/COSMOS standards and, on request, also to the RSPO (Roundtable On Sustainable Palm Oil) guidelines.
With formulations based on these new, modern surfactants, body and face care products may bear the ECOCERT/COSMOS certificates. These confirm that the products are vegan, biodegradable, non-ethoxylated or sulphate free.
The surfactants from the BergaSoft series are sulphate free and non-ethoxylated, and nevertheless have good foaming properties. They can be used in shower gel, bath foam, facial cleansing foam, shampoo and also micellar water and cleansing wipes, where they free the skin gently and efficiently from excess grease or other residues. Besides having good skin and hair compatibility, they ensure rapid foam development, high volume and an attractive consistency when used in cleansing care products.
The new APG surfactants from the BergaSoft series are also available based on sustainably produced palm oil in accordance with RSPO MB (=mass balance) certification.
Berg + Schmidt will be showing its new APG surfactants from the BergaSoft series and other sustainable raw materials at the SCS in Coventry (Stand 118) from 15-16 November.
