Bluestar Silicones will promote its Silbione® Biomedical Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) product line for Long-term Implant and Drug Delivery applications, its Silbione® soft skin adhesives for wound care and wearable devices, and its Silbione ® RTV elastomers and RT Gels for orthotics & prosthetics, at the Medica/Compamed tradeshow (Booth 8b C25), Nov 14-17, at Messe Dusseldorf.
Available in ShA 01 through 70 hardness, Silbione® Biomedical LSRs offer outstanding physical properties and lot-to-lot consistency, optimizing product design in an easy-to-process formulation, improving cycle time and part quality.
These LSRs are produced and packaged in newly certified and accredited ISO 8 and ISO 7 clean rooms in York, S.C., USA
Bluestar Silicones is now extending this range with low consistency elastomers shore A 25 to 40, available in either 1:1 or 10:1 mix ratios. Specific references of these LSR ranges are now available for drug delivery applications, with possibility for customers to reference Bluestar Silicones’ Drug Master File (DMF, type IV excipient) on file with FDA CDER.
Bluestar Silicones will promote its Silbione® Soft Skin Adhesives for wound, scar, transdermal and wearable device applications. Coaters can now save costs and headaches, using newly introduced Silbione® RT Gel 4645, designed to bong strongly on polyurethane films without any primer or surface treatment. Coaters can also increase their productivity and efficiency, thanks to optimized curing kinetics, even at lower oven temperatures. OEMs can leverage this to open new device constructions, as direct silicone deposition on thermally sensitive substrates is now possible.
Bluestar Silicones will also showcase innovative low density elastomers. Silbione® RTV 4404 LD and RTV 4410 LD are platinum-cured biocompatible soft RTV systems that are used for making lighter silicone parts, for example sportswear damping pads. Combining a weight reduction of 25% with the softness and durability of soft silicone elastomers, they ensure a greater comfort for the end user.
Lighter gels are now also available with Silbione® RT Gel 4622 SLD, the latest addition to the offering for external breast prosthesis. Coming with superior product consistency and shelf life, it will also help patients to be more comfortable and enjoy their daily lives.
