A growing number of consumers are concerned about irregular skin texture and visible pores. Skin which has refined structure and even complexion is a much sought-after trait which is not easy to obtain, especially those with combination or oily skin. As skin ages, skin pores become even more pronounced, making them also the latest anti-aging skincare goal for consumers and brands alike.
At in-cosmetics Global in Barcelona this year, CLR will present its latest innovation, CutiFine CLR™, the first ingredient which addresses all cell biological processes, which contribute to skin pores becoming more conspicuous.
With CutiFine CLR™ pore size is reduced by its activity on the dermal compartment around the hair follicle which gives it structural support, keeping pores small. Additionally, pore size is addressed by reducing the hyperproliferation of follicular keratinocytes, an important factor in people suffering from oily and combination skin. Color contrast between the pore and its surrounding is a new and multifaceted challenge. Inflammatory processes can lead to more visible pores. Oxidation of sebum can lead to reactive aldehyde compounds which then can interact with superficial keratins leading to browning of the pores. Oily and combination skin can be shiny, which also contributes. Lastly, glycation processes also have an influence on color contrast.
Altogether CutiFine CLR™ constitutes an all-in-one approach to reduce the conspicuousness of pores. In clinical studies, with the AEVA HE technology, it was shown that the number of detectable pores, their surface area, circumference and volume were clearly reduced. The effectiveness of CutiFine CLR™ could also be confirmed by the volunteers who took part. After only 28 days, more than 80% of the volunteers reported a reduction of conspicuous pores.
CutiFine CLR™ unites the best of traditional Chinese and African medicine. It is obtained through extraction of the plant Vaccaria segetalis (cowherb) and the fruit pulp of Adansonia digitata (baobab). The ingenious extractions and further processing of both botanical materials takes place with minimum use of energy, making the production process of CutiFine CLR™ extremely gentle with minimum negative impact on both the environment and the biologically active molecules obtained from these raw materials.
