Lubrizol is delighted to announce its Carbopol® Fusion S-20 polymer, the first sustainable and biodegradable Carbopol® polymer, has been recently awarded, Bronze Innovation Zone Best Ingredient Award in the Functional Ingredients category at the in-cosmetics® Korea show in Seoul and second place for the NZSCC Innovation Best Functional Ingredient celebrated in New Zealand.
Launched in April 2024 during in-cosmetics® Global, Carbopol® Fusion S-20 polymer is a liquid hybrid technology designed to suspend, stabilize, thicken, and enhance the appearance of personal cleansing products. This sustainable rheology modifier for cleansing systems is an easy-to-use product that provides clarity across a broad pH range. It delivers the performance of an acrylates copolymer while offering multiple sustainability benefits: it is inherently biodegradable, and its manufacturing process addresses the 12 principles of Green Chemistry.
Carbopol® Fusion S-20 polymer also has a low carbon footprint and contains starch, a renewable resource with good traceability and no competition with food supplies.
The Innovation Zone Best Ingredient Award honors ingredients that combine innovative science and product features in a way that offers substantial benefits to manufacturers and end-users, surpassing existing counterparts. The jury was made up of a panel of international and Korean experts.
The Best Functional Product Innovation Award of the NZSCC’s Annual Conference prizes the most innovative ingredient and is voted by colleagues of the sector, based on the formulations displayed during the event. This conference was to celebrate the NZSCC 50th anniversary.
These recognitions join two other industry accolades recently awarded to Carbopol® Fusion S-20 polymer this year, in-cosmetics® Global Innovation Zone Best Ingredient and BSB Innovation Award, these latest announcements reiterate Lubrizol’s commitment to offering inspiring breakthrough innovations to the markets we serve.
