Procos “leitmotif” is to provide always an active and efficient support to our customer and to new ones, new services and capabilities. Procos reports the expansion of the RD laboratory, doubling the current surface to 800 m2 of fully equipped labs ready in September.
One of Procos strong belief is to invest in new capabilities and technology, not only to keep the step with the Pharma requirements and the innovations, but also to provide “the best” service to our customers.
Indeed since 2006, Procos has invested more than 100 million Euro in technological and capability expansion.
Just to mention some milestones, we can report the implementation of the R10 unit in 2015 with reactors sizes up to 12000 L, the HPAPI unit in 2018, a segregate and independent unit at Procos (fully equipped with Warehouse, RD and QC laboratories and 2 cGMP manufacturing lines) for Cytotoxic API and intermediates with a containment level down to 10 ng/m3 and last year a standalone Quality unit, doubling the size of the QC laboratories, and increasing all the quality team for a more efficient and “Custom-centric” support.
And now, a new step in Procos achievements, comes from the R&D unit. The company is enlarging the surface to 800 m2 with fully equipped labs, doubling the current space. The newly section of the R&D lab will be operative by September. That will create increased capability for new projects and the increment of the technological innovation, always a strong point in Procos R&D unit.
For example, the R&D unit made several effort in advancing on QbD for process and analytical development, as well in process modelling, providing development packages with enhanced approach to successfully support customer regulatory submissions. Recently a new step has been made implementing automated platforms. These “robotic hoods” is not only increasing the experimental productivity, but also they remove “operator factor” in the DoE studies.
Another example in innovation can be found in flow chemistry. Procos created a dedicated team with experience in development and industrialization of flow processes conversion batch process to flow and some productions using CSTR reactors.
RD development, means also analytical and Procos is fully aware on the importance of it. Constant investment in this area can be mentioned, like for equipment preparative HPLCs and 2D HPLCs system for isolation and characterization of process impurities, and in human resources, having an equivalent ratio between process and analyst researcher working for every project.
Procos with this new RD laboratory expansion envisaged to provide a even more efficient and reliable service to our customers, not only with an increase of the development speed, but also an improved level of quality and comprehension provided, to tackle the complexity and the tighter timelines required for every project nowadays.
