Abstract
Changing to Methyl Ester Sulfonates (MES)can reduce dependence on crude oil andpetrochemical based detergent alkylates. MES can beproduced based on using product from several of thebiodiesel plants put up during recent years. MES is“green”, has excellent surfactant properties, good returnon investment and MES based products are easy on theenvironment. These objectives can be met by switchingall or partially to Methyl Ester Sulfonate (MES) production.
