Abstract
Homodinuclear ruthenium catalysts with rigidspacers were used in the discovery of a new olefinmetathesis reaction: Dimer Ring Closing Metathesis (DRCM).The development of DRCM is commented and the synthesisof a new di-ruthenium complex is presented. The newcomplex was shown to be active in olefin metathesis, but itwas not selective for DRCM. The future perspectives for theexciting DRC reaction are also discussed.
