Abstract
Recent studies suggest plasma glutamine level is a useful indicator of immune function and overtraining syndrome while the effects of glutamine supplementation have been widely investigated under various conditions. This paper reviews (1) the effect of exogenous supplementation of free and peptide-bound glutamine on exercise-inducedand other immunosuppression and (2) a selection of efficient methods for the preparation of peptide-bound glutamine.
