Abstract
The performance of inorganic-only sunscreensystems against various UVA test criteria is examined.Combinations of titanium dioxide and zinc oxide can beused to meet European, Japanese and proposed US UVArequirements, but high proportions of actives are requiredfor high SPF systems. A new grade of titanium dioxide hasbeen developed that can be used as a single activeingredient to provide high SPF and also meet EuropeanUVA guidelines.
