Healthy lifestyle is a topic everyone is talking about. A current social media search showed in Google ~937 million hits, in Baidu ~45 million hits and even on Instagram this hashtag has already ~48 million posts. Healthy lifestyle seems to be of global concern. But what does healthy lifestyle mean – it’s something to do with vegan diet and daily functional training? Honestly, this would be too simple. Healthy lifestyle means to take care for ourselves holistically, physical and mentally.
Researchers from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health investigated the impact of health habits on life expectancy, by evaluating data about diet, physical activity, body weight, smoking, and alcohol consumption of a huge number of people over a very long period of time. (Nurses’ Health Study (1980–2014; n=78 865) and Health Professionals Follow-up Study (1986–2014, n=44 354)). The conclusion was, that adopting a healthy lifestyle could prolong life expectancy.
