The cosmetic industry has grown considerably and steadily in the last decades, with a very healthy growth forecast expected even in the next five years. During this time, consumers have also matured with higher expectations towards milder and greener beauty products. They desire products with high natural or renewable content made from responsibly sourced materials. It is not uncommon for them to check the ingredients list, preferring products with less ingredients that look easier to understand and pronounce. A catalyst or medium for this evolution has been the internet, where consumers access all sorts of information, any time, anywhere. This information is not always a reliable one, however it has changed forever the way people choose and shop for cosmetic products and as a result of that the way the industry formulates cosmetics.
