Abstract
Chemical and biotechnology processing is continuallypushing back the limits of elastomer rubber sealingperformance. The combination of aggressive chemicalsand solvents, high temperatures and rigorous steam, acidand alkali cleaning regimes are too much for all but themost inert of elastomers, specifically perfluoroelastomers.
