Abstract

Nowadays cannabis and hemp are used in many fields: medical, cosmetic, beverage, recreational (CBD and THC with different laws depending on the state), etc. In the next decade, thanks to the increasing legalization in multiple countries worldwide, it is estimated that by 2025 the Legal Global Cannabis Industry could be worth as much as USD 130 billion, with US leading the industry with over USD 40 billion. 

CBD products are becoming more and more popular in several markets from the pharmaceutical to fast-moving consumer goods industries. The wide variety of cannabis products available on the market requires multiple different processing techniques and packaging styles designed to be flexible, reliable and lifetime efficient. In this article we will investigate a dosing technique developed to fill the CBD oil into capsules and a dedicated solution to handle recreational cannabis.


INTRODUCTION

Cannabis regulation is currently divided into medical and recreational use. There are just few countries where recreational marijuana is legal, such as Canada, Uruguay and some States in the U.S. Meanwhile medical marijuana is already a strong prospect with so many markets worldwide that have moved forward with new legislations to fully legalize it.

 

The US is by far the largest cannabis market worldwide and it is expected to keep the lead in the next decade.
