Hovione Farmaciência

Chemist at Hovione R&D Process Chemistry Development group and responsible for the development of chemical processes for manufacturing Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) for new medicines.

Graduated in Chemistry by Faculty of Sciences of University of Lisbon (FCULisboa) in 2004, followed by PhD in Organic Chemistry also at FCULisboa in collaboration with F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd., Basel, Switzerland, in 2009. Assistant Researcher at Faculty of Pharmacy of University of Lisbon from 2010-2015 and since 2015 joined Hovione team.

To date has published 28 scientific papers in international peer-reviewed journals and is author of 2 book chapters and 2 patents.

Her current main interests are related with the development of innovative processes for API manufacture to optimize the efficiency toward high-quality products for human use, minimizing environmental impact of the manufacture of new medicines through the application of Quality by Design (QbD), flow chemistry and process modelling approaches.
